The founders of JordanReads are parents too. Like millions of mothers and fathers around the world, we have often found ourselves asking:

Yet amid the demands of everyday life, parents often find themselves searching for the right answers. We enrol our children in one class after another, hoping to strengthen their writing skills or broaden their vocabulary after receiving a concerned call from a teacher. We sign them up for hour-long programmes, never entirely certain whether they are truly supporting our children's emotional well-being or simply filling another slot in an already busy schedule.

As parents, we cannot walk every step of our children's journey for them. But we can give them a richer environment, inspiring mentors, and meaningful tools that help them discover their own path. As Childhood Begins to Change

The world is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and children are being introduced to technology from an ever younger age. With a single tap, thousands of videos appear instantly. Games, social media, and an endless stream of digital content compete constantly for their attention.

According to a 2024 study by Qustodio, based on the digital media habits of more than 400,000 families and schools worldwide, YouTube remained the world's largest streaming platform for children. The report also revealed that, compared with 2023, children's time spent on TikTok had increased by more than 60%, with young people aged 4 to 18 spending an average of 112 minutes each day watching short-form videos.

The rapid advancement of technology is not, in itself, a bad thing. It has created remarkable opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection. Yet it has also quietly reduced the time children spend reading. Studies from around the world consistently show that as children's screen time continues to increase, their reading habits continue to decline. Alongside this shift come growing concerns about attention spans, vocabulary development, communication skills, critical thinking, and empathy.

What worries many parents is not that their children are using technology. It is whether that technology is enriching their development or simply consuming their time.
